Honda Rugged Open Air Vehicle Concept @ SEMA
Anyone interested in a powerful and fun off-roading adventure vehicle will surely be impressed with Honda’s new concept creation.
Last week at the 2018 SEMA show in Las Vegas, Honda unveiled an amazing new vehicle that is a combination of the Honda Ridgeline pickup truck and the Honda Pioneer 1000 side-by-side.
This rugged open-air vehicle concept was designed and developed by Honda R&D Americas. Their goal was to create an example of what the ultimate off-road Honda four-wheeled vehicle could look like. Concept vehicle enthusiasts are in awe of the combination of powerful truck capabilities mixed with all the open-air fun of a side-by-side. Honda has not disclosed all of the specific details, but here is what we know about the Rugged concept. Though the cabin is quite bare, there are a few honorable mentions. The seats were borrowed from the Civic Type R and were reskinned in the same waterproof fabric used on the Pioneer 1000, which is definitely a worthy benefit to withstand the elements when taking this vehicle off-road. Also taken from the Pioneer are the steering wheel, doors, pickup bed and tailgate. The attributes from the Ridgeline include the body, suspension and steering column.
We may not be planning any rugged adventures with this concept vehicle any time soon but just looking at it definitely gives us some thrilling thoughts.
